Getting Smocky With It Cowl - On Demand Class

This cowl is a fun and fast variation on a smocking stitch.  Originally designed for DK weight, we just had to whip it up in a lighter fingering weight version.  It uses yarns specifically dyed for assigned pooling to know when to do the "smocked" stitches, so be sure to select your favorite pooling colorway and get ready for a perfect project for a confident beginner who wants to expand their skills while creating a stunning accessory. Our expert instructors will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring that you feel confident and inspired throughout the class. Materials: 

Approximately 400 yds fingering weight yarn.

We recommend one of Dream in Color's planned pooling yarns for best results, available here.

US 4 & 6 24" circular needles

Or, US 4 & 6  5" Interchangeable Tips in Metal or Bamboo, and a small Twist or Spin 14" Cable

Pre-work:

Swatch and achieve gauge.  With smaller needles, cast on and work the border.  Then begin knitting in the round until you reach your first color splash.  You are now ready for class.
