Designed to pair perfectly with mini skeins, this project is a great opportunity to learn to knit fair isle.  Choose from knitting the hat or cowl, pick from one of two colorwork patterns, and get ready to add fair isle to your repertoire of stitching skills.  

Difficulty: Confident Beginner

Materials: 

435 yards fingering; 174 yards of main color, 87 yards each of 3 contrast colors

We recommend the Jewel Collection Kit or Dream in Color Smooshy Mini skeins

For Hat: 

US 2 & 3 16" needles

Or, US 2 & 3  4" Interchangeable Tips in Metal or Bamboo, and a small Twist or Spin 8" Cable

For Cowl: 

US 2 & 3 24" needles

Or, US 2 & 3  5" Interchangeable Tips in Metal or Bamboo, and a small Twist or Spin 14" Cable

Pre-work:

With main color and smaller needles, cast on for the desired size of the hat or cowl.  Work the 1x1 ribbing.  You are now ready for class.
