Concert Cowl
Sometimes, the most eye-catching results come from the simplest stitches. That’s this cowl based entirely on garter, stockinette, ribbing, and a few simple four-stitch repeats. In this class you'll learn the “traveling stripes” method of in-the-round color management, so the transitions between colors are nearly invisible. We'll also teach you how to work fun slip stitch patterns and more.

Proficiency in basic knitting skills: knit, purl, cast on, bind off, increase and decrease.
PRE-WORK
With MC cast on 252. BOTTOM RIBBING Rnds 1-12: (K3, p4) around. Rnd 13: (K3, p2, p2tog) around?216 sts. Rnds 14-24: (K3, p3) around. Rnd 25: (K3, p1, p2tog) around?180 sts. GAUGE: Gauge: not critical, but will affect total yardage used SUPPLIES Pattern: Available at class $5.00 plus printing fee YARN: MC: approximately 278 yd of fingering weight yarn CC: approximately 228 yd of fingering weight yarn NEEDLES: US 5, 24 inch circular needle Stitch Markers Please bring these additional tools: Knitting gauge, scissors, tape measure, paper & pen for note taking if desired, tapestry needle (preferably bent tip). |
